SSN Staff Moving On
Published 21 June 2011 in SSNAmie Fulton (SSN's Local Footprints Officer) and Ruth Bush (Scottish Sustainable Development Forum Officer) will leave the SSN staff team in the coming months. Amie will join COSLA in the new post of Policy Manager (Waste, Carbon and Climate) and Ruth has secured funding for a PhD studentship at the Doctoral Training Centre for Low Carbon Technologies at Leeds University.
Amie's new role as Policy Manager at COSLA marks a exciting new development that will be critically important in progressing local government's work on climate change and waste. Amie will be part of the Environment and Regeneration Team led by George Eckton. In her new role, Amie will continue to work closely with the SSN and our network members across Scotland, as well as the Waste Manager Network. Amie will join COSLA at the start of August.
Ruth Bush joined the SSN team when the Scottish Sustainable Development Forum (SSDF) transferred to Keep Scotland Beautiful on 1st April 2011, and has been a valuable asset to the SSN team. Securing funding to pursue her academic career presents a great opportunity for Ruth, and SSN will be working with colleagues at Keep Scotland Beautiful and the SSDF Advisory Group to explore how best to continue to deliver on the SSDF's workplan.
While Amie and Ruth will be sorely missed from the SSN team, they are both moving on to do further important work progressing sustainability; and SSN looks forward to working with them both, in a different capacity, in the years ahead.
